With only eight days left in the school year, teachers are planning for their summer vacation. We went around and asked some teachers what they plan on doing with their summer vacation.

“I plan on playing with my grandchildren, a lot, and taking them swimming, gardening, traveling, relaxing, painting a little bit. Getting ready for another year,” Mrs Hamilton said of her time off.

For others, the break won’t be as relaxing.

“I recently had a baby, so spending time with her, working at a restaraunt, probably, for extra cash and to keep busy,” said Mrs. Linscomb.

Balancing work with leisure seems to be the most common approach.

“I’m gonna go to Texas with my family and I’ll be coaching lots of football,” Mr. Zoch told us.

Pyle spoke of her plans to go biking through two states. “For my summer vacation, I read lots of books, we’re taking another bicycle trip. We were going to go on a trip to Alaska, but my son is getting married, so we will not be doing that. We will probably be going to California and Nevada. Lots of reading and riding bikes.”
