Following the most recent software update at CHS, which was intended to fix several issues such as certain teachers repeating the same lines of dialogue over and over, several CHS teachers would appear upside down under certain circumstances. The teachers affected by this bug include the teachers added in the 2016-2017 staff update (Mr. Jamison, Mr. Tarletsky, Mrs. Raasch).

“It’s just a visual glitch, but we’re still working hard to get it fixed. The teachers will still act as expected, but will appear to flip upside down for a few seconds after being asked for a question, or when passing out papers,” said Matt Hogoboom, CHS technical director and software programmer.

“I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, but I’m glad it’s getting fixed,” said Mr. Tarletsky, one of the teachers affected by the glitch. “I feel like this isn’t something that needs to be addressed right away. There are more important things that need to be added. Dreifort still doesn’t have any emotions, and they added him almost a decade ago.”

Tarletsky was referring to the next update to the CHS software. Hogoboom spoke of new features that will be added in the update, which should fix the visual glitch.

“We’re hoping to iron out a few bugs and introduce a few new exciting features. We’re trying to add empathy to several CHS teachers, but it just depends on how their coding reacts to these radical changes. We’re giving Mr. Odom an improved battery life, among other things.”

Hogoboom said the update should be released sometime in early February.
